If you need to remove the entire brake bracket for any job when you go to reinstall it make sure to torque its bolts to 118 ft-lbs.

How to change the rear brakes

The rear brakes on a Town Car are disc brakes which involve the same directions as most other disc brakes including the front brakes on this car. To install new brake pads you only need to remove the tire and the brake caliper. Once the caliper is off you can swap the new pads in for the old pads. When reinstalling the rear brake caliper you must torque the caliper bolts to 20 ft-lbs.
